About Us
The St. Andre Bessette Schola is a classical hybrid school in the Catholic tradition, located in Charlottesville, Virginia. We serve homeschooling families with children in Pre-K through 7th grade. Students meet for class on our campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and continue aligned instruction at home on Thursdays and Fridays under the guidance of their parents. We aim to communicate a rich body of knowledge, form virtuous scholars who love truth, goodness, and beauty, and equip them to respond to God’s calling in their life. 

Position Overview 
St. Andre Bessette teachers form strong partnerships with parents to deliver high-quality, classical, curriculum that instills wonder and inspires virtue. We are currently seeking a part-time Latin teacher to teach for about three hours per week for the 2026-2027 school year. The key responsibilities and expectations include: 

  • Teach Latin to grades Kindergarten through third using the engaging and highly scripted University of Dallas Latin Curriculum, “Latin Through Stories.” There will be four thirty-minute teaching blocks with an additional hour of planning time compensated per week. 

  • Cultivate and maintain a positive, orderly classroom ethos that inspires virtue 

  • Develop virtuous, supportive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues 

  • Participate in annual training and accept and implement feedback willingly 

Qualifications 

  • Intermediate fluency in Latin is preferred 

  • Experience teaching in a classroom setting is preferred

  • Willingness to sign a Catholic statement of faith
